Ute Australia Pty. Ltd was established in 2007 by Product Designer Kain Lucas and Marketing Executive Graham Smith. Based in Melbourne Australia , Ute develops Australian designed products with a focus on utilitarian application.

The name “Ute” is a simple abbreviation of the word “utilitarian”, and is a uniquely Australian word which captures the spirit, belief, and focus of our company. Our philosophy is to create products that are beautiful in design, while maintaining a focus on simple functionality.

Our motto is “Design that Works”, and our designs, whilst being utilitarian by nature, display a high level of aesthetic refinement and quality.

Ute is not in the business of developing products to fit with current fashion and trends; instead we choose to focus on products that possess timeless appeal through their honest, simple and creative design and well considered approach to material selection and construction.
